Illinois Prairie Weavers is a Chicago Area Guild for Handweavers Our goal as a guild is to promote and advance handweaving by coming together as weavers to teach, encourage and inspire one another by sharing our knowledge, and providing the opportunity to learn from experienced weavers. The guild is open to anyone interested in weaving, and we are nonpartisan and noncommercial. |

MEETING CANCELLATION PROCEDURE: The Guild Board has hammered out a meeting cancellation policy as follows... In the event of severe weather or other emergency, the decision to cancel a regularly scheduled meeting of the guild rests with the First Vice President (1VP) or other person in charge of running the program for that day. The 1VP contacts the Web Master (or back-up) who will post a notice on the web site and send an e-mail to all members of the guild. The 1VP also contacts the coffee person and the other members of the guild board. Every effort should be made to accomplish these steps by 8 am on the day of the meeting. Members who do not have e-mail are asked to contact the 1VP or any of the board members to find out if a meeting has been canceled. |

Monthly Meetings Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month September through June. Meetings are held at the Downers Grove Public Library. See our Program Schedule page for more details. We start with an officers meeting and social time at 9:30 AM (all members are welcome to attend). The regular meeting starts at 10:00 AM with a brief business update and "Show & Tell" followed by a topical program. ATTENTION WEAVING/FIBER/TEXTILE ARTISTS: IPW continuously looks for interesting programs for our members. The guild has officers who sit on the Executive Committee along with a representative from each study group. The guild has a Constitution and Standing Rules and conducts meetings by Roberts' Rules of Order. DUES: $20.00 annually Additional charges for workshops. |
